The Protime Clinic is a physician-directed, nurse-managed outpatient clinic for patients on Coumadin (warfarin) therapy. Clinic staff provide comprehensive teaching, schedule and arrange for protime lab, adjust anticoagulation dosage based on clinic guidelines and physician order, monitor for side effects, manage interruptions in therapy, and monitor patient compliance.
The Lipid Clinic is an outpatient clinic for patients with complex, difficult to manage lipid disorders, which is nurse managed and physician directed. Because of the complex nature of the dyslipidemias treated in the Lipid Clinic, patients are generally first referred to a cardiologist with subsequent referral to the Lipid Clinic.
Clinic staff provide comprehensive teaching, schedule and arrange for lab, adjust medication and therapy based on physician orders, monitor for side effects, and monitor patient compliance.
